About Us

The Institute of Sleep Medicine specialises in Respiratory and Sleep Medicine including Respiratory and Sleep consultations, overnight sleep laboratory monitoring and treatment studies. We are dedicated to ensuring a personalised and professional service with the primary aim for our patients being to obtain optimal daytime function with improved health outcomes and general well being.

Sleep disorders encompass a wide range of conditions which may potentially have systemic physiologic and psychologic implications when the quantity and or quality of sleep is disrupted, particularly on a background of any underlying medical issues.

As The Institute of Sleep Medicine is a medical provider, you are under the direct care of a Credentialed Respiratory & Sleep Physician. All of our sleep studies are analysed by a sleep specific tertiary qualified sleep physiologist who is also board registered (RPSGT) and reviewed by our Respiratory & Sleep Physician, ensuring the scientific and medical integrity of all final results and thereby initiating appropriate therapeutic pathways for optimal patient outcomes.

It is imperative that any advice sought should ultimately be reviewed by a registered Respiratory & Sleep Physician prior to the initiation of any therapeutic treatment or intervention.

Clinical advice and management

Every sleep study report at the Institute of Sleep Medicine is individually prepared by our experienced and credentialed Clinical Sleep Physiologist. Every sleep study is personally reviewed by our Credentialed Respiratory and Sleep Physician, Dr Vanitha Visvalingam with a detailed clinical diagnosis and recommendations.

Clinical consultations with our Sleep Physician are available with a referral. For more information, telephone our administration centre on (02) 4252 7333.  Alternatively, we also accept correspondence via email at [email protected] or use the online form on the Contact Us page here.
