Dr Virginia Oliveira is a General Paediatrician and Paediatric Sleep Specialist. She has been a strong interest in behavioural and developmental challenges in children, as well as great belief and respect for neurodiversity. Dr Oliveira is the Clinical Director and Owner of Southern Healthcare Specialists. She founded the Paediatric Sleep Service at Southern Healthcare Specialists in 2016. In 2017, she founded The Sleep Cottage, the only Paediatric Sleep Laboratory in the Sutherland Shire. She is also a Paediatrician at St George Private, Kareena and Hurstville Private Hospitals.
Dr Oliveira graduated in Medicine in 2000, in Brazil. In Australia, she worked at Sydney Children’s Hospital and Children’s Hospital at Westmead. At the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, when she first arrived in Australia, Dr Oliveira worked as a medical officer for clinical trials on respiratory diseases and as a researcher in laboratory based studies. Dr Oliveira is a mother of two wonderful little boys, who are often in her company in her ward rounds and love spending time with her in her clinics.
